This file applies to every page on https://curioputterings.github.io/singapore-mall-data and every file in this repository. By using the data or visiting the published pages, you acknowledge the following.

In plain English

This is a hobby project. It collects publicly-visible information about shopping malls in Singapore — the shops they list on their own websites, and the nursing rooms they mention on their facility pages — and presents it in charts and tables. The numbers describe what we could see online at a single point in time. They are not an audit of any mall, not a ranking of any operator, not a measurement of physical reality, and not advice of any kind. If you are an operator and we got something wrong, please tell us — we will fix it quickly and log the change publicly. If you would prefer to be removed from the dataset entirely, no reason needed, just ask.

No personal data

This dataset describes businesses and their public-facing facilities, not individuals. It does not contain personal data of customers, employees, or members of the public, and is not subject to Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) in that respect. If you nonetheless believe a record refers to you personally and want it removed, please contact the maintainer through any channel above.

Nature of the project

This is an open-data hobby project assembled from publicly-discoverable sources at fixed snapshot dates (currently 2026-05-27). It catalogues:

• Singapore shopping centres, their corporate owners, and the shops listed in their public store directories at the snapshot date.
• Nursing / baby-care rooms inside Singapore malls that were findable through operators’ own public web pages, publicly-available per-floor coordinate data where it existed, or community-curated directories.

What the dataset is, and is NOT

It is — a descriptive snapshot of what could be observed publicly at a point in time, processed for comparability.

It is NOT:

• ❌ an audit, ranking, scorecard, or evaluation of any mall, operator, REIT, retailer, F&B brand, or facility
• ❌ a measurement of physical reality at any mall (signage at the venue itself often shows more than is published online)
• ❌ a measurement of tenant performance, foot traffic, revenue, brand quality, customer experience, or competitive positioning
• ❌ financial advice, investment guidance, valuation, or a recommendation in any context
• ❌ a substitute for due diligence in any commercial, investment, regulatory, or consumer decision
• ❌ an endorsement, criticism, or comparison of any specific operator or brand

Limitations explicitly acknowledged

• Tenant directories change frequently. A store that was listed on the snapshot date may have closed, relocated, or rebranded since.
• Operator publishing varies. Some operators publish full directories; others publish curated subsets or do not surface certain fields (e.g. nursing-room capacity) on their digital channels at all.
• Many derived figures are estimates. The Financials report flags every value as either D (disclosed by the owner) or E (estimated by us); methodology is documented.
• Cuisine bucketing and provenance classification are judgement calls based on publicly-available information. Brands and operators may legitimately disagree with our categorisations.
• Community-curated sources (Little Day Out, babyment) used to gap-fill the nursing dataset are known to undercount by 60–90% relative to operator-truth on overlapping malls. They are treated as lower bounds, not counts.

No warranties

The data is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, or non-infringement. The project owner accepts no liability for any decision made on the basis of this data or any analysis derived from it.

Brand names and trademarks

Mall names, retailer names, F&B brand names, REIT names and other identifiers referenced in this dataset and narrative remain the property of their respective owners and are used here for purely descriptive purposes. No affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement is implied by either party.

Corrections welcome — a real procedure, not a promise

If you spot a factual error, an out-of-date entry, a mis-classified row, or any framing that you believe misrepresents your business:

1. File a data-correction issue or email curioputterings@proton.me.
2. We acknowledge within 7 days.
3. We update verifiable corrections within 30 days and republish.
4. Every accepted change is logged in CORRECTIONS.md with date, what changed, and the source citation.
5. For removals (operator opt-out): file a takedown issue. No reason required. Same SLA: acknowledged within 7 days, removed within 30. The takedown is logged (named or anonymous, your choice).
6. Where you disagree with a classification (e.g. cuisine bucket, provenance label) but the facts are correct: we will publish your preferred framing alongside ours rather than choose one. Differences of interpretation are real and we’d rather show both than appear to take sides.

The data and narrative are released under CC BY 4.0. You are free to share and adapt with attribution; this disclaimer does not transfer with derivative works, so derivative publishers should add their own.
