Corrections log
A public, append-only record of every correction made to the dataset on request. The goal is twofold:
- Demonstrate responsiveness. Anyone — operator, brand, researcher, or curious visitor — can see that requests are received, considered, and acted on.
- Maintain accountability. Every change to a published record is dated, attributed (where the requester is happy to be named), and citable.
How a correction gets into this log
- Anyone files a data-correction issue or emails the maintainer at curioputterings@proton.me.
- We acknowledge within 7 days. If the source can be verified, we update the underlying dataset and republish.
- The change is appended to this file, with the date, the affected record, a short description, and the source.
- The CORRECTIONS row stays in this file in perpetuity, even after later snapshots supersede it.
Removals (operator opt-outs)
Removal requests follow the same channel but use the takedown issue template. They are unconditional — no reason is required. Acknowledged within 7 days, completed within 30 days. The removal is logged here, naming the entity (or “anonymous, at operator’s request” if the requester prefers).
